Shipping lines give 4-7 days free time (demurrage). After Last Free Day (LFD), daily charges run $100-300. We recommend scheduling drayage 1-2 days before vessel arrival. Our system auto-tracks LFD and alerts you.
How much does LA/LB drayage cost? +
LA/LB port to within 50 miles (City of Industry / Inland Empire) typically $400-800 per container (chassis + fuel included). Over 50 miles adds per-mile fuel. Final cost depends on pickup time (day vs night), equipment, chassis, dock at destination.
When do I need transload? +
4 common scenarios: 1) Destination has no dock or can't receive 40HQ; 2) One container, multiple consignees; 3) Need repalletization for LTL; 4) Return empty container quickly to save chassis fee ($25-50/day).
